Education Knows No Lockdown: A Peek to DICES’ FLEX

July 13, 2020- A day when Holy Family Academy of G.M.A., Inc. proved its excellence and continuous service of giving students the quality Catholic Education they deserve by launching the DICES’ Flex Program.

The said day was an attestation to how the school and its stakeholders stood not only as a community, but rather a family, amidst the lashings of challenges that the education sector experienced during the last and present school year- closing of schools and establishments, lockdowns, and the feared COVID-19 pandemic which lead to uncertainties to students’ education and even death of those who experienced the wrath of the virus.

Despite the mishaps mentioned, it did not hinder the educational institution, which has been made sturdy by the time, from pursuing its mission to deliver the quality Catholic Education guided by the present curriculum, k-12. Accessible and relevant education were strengthened and given to all Holinians regardless of their economic status. As what Bishop Rey Evangelista preached on his mass last July 8, 2020, “Education knows no lockdown…Sa Holy Spirit, walang lockdown, lockdown, walang saradong pinto.”

In preparation for the opening of the current academic year, Holy Family Academy of G.M.A., Inc. endorsed its new and flexible learning program- DICES’ FLEX. This initiative has been done together by the numbered schools under the Diocese of Imus Catholic Educational System with the goal to continue providing education despite the closure of most educational institutions and mass’ desire for “Academic Freeze” in the entire Philippines.

In line with this, teachers attended various webinars to help them prepare and deal with the “New Normal”. Expert teachers from different DICES schools were also grouped to contribute to the DICES’ FLEX Modules- as this is one of the main sources of students’ learning for the entire school year. Each one was crafted with excellence to cater students with varied learning styles and intelligences.

As Holy Family Academy launched its DICES’ Flex program, students and parents were given an insight on what the school year will be all about by a week-long orientation, hosted by the beloved institution. Each day included various topics such as: HFA “DICES FLEX Program”, DICES FLEXible Learning Kits, Health Protocols, Data Privacy, Class and Consultation Schedule, Learning Modules, and Differentiated Instruction and Student- Centered Approach- all of which are essential in these trying times.

The program was a success most remarkably when the distribution of first and second warm-up modules took place. Alongside with this, pre-recorded instructional videos and academic modules were also given to all Holinians. Modality of DICES’ Flex Program was also exceptional for it offers Modular/Offline and Online learning- where parents can choose which type of learning is suitable for their child during this pandemic. Delivery and pick-up modes for modules were also introduced to parents to make sure that students will get their academic modules on time.

This is not to declare that the institution has fully overtaken the dilemmas brought by the pandemic. As we are new to this, the institution, also, catches up to the uncertainties with the hope and vision to bring learning at the comfort of students’ houses. Still, Holy Family Academy of G.M.A., Inc. will be veracious that it is where your child finds a home.
